Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Network Administrator to maintain and support our enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations, ensuring reliability, security, and performance for engineering, manufacturing, and business operations.

You will configure Layer 2/3 networks, implement changes, monitor health, and collaborate with systems, security, and IT teams, while documenting standards and procedures. On-site in Houston, TX, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience in network administration.
  • Experience administering enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and Zero Trust networking.
  • Experience supporting multi-site network environments and maintaining high network availability.
  • Familiarity with centralized network configuration management, monitoring, and alerting platforms.
  • Experience creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration across technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
  • Design, install, and maintain structured cabling systems, network racks, and physical infrastructure.
  • Implement approved network changes and manage smaller networking projects independently.
  • Maintain centralized network configuration management systems and ensure consistency across devices.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and availability with monitoring/alerting tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues across enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with systems, security, and IT teams to maintain reliable, secure network services.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Leverage automation and configuration management to streamline administration.
  • Provide advanced support and act as escalation resource when needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management to ensure security and reliability.

The Role

As a Network Administrator at Venus Aerospace, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the enterprise network infrastructure that powers our engineering, manufacturing, and business operations. Working closely withother IT professionals, you will help ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organization's network environment across multiple locations. This role is focused on maintaining a resilient and scalable network infrastructure that enables the business to operate efficiently. You will administer and troubleshoot critical network infrastructure, implement approved network changes, and support configuration management and monitoring solutions that keep the business connected. Success in this position requires strong technical fundamentals, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where network availability and security are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
  • Design, install, and maintain structured cabling systems, network racks, and physical network infrastructure
  • Implement approved network changes and infrastructure improvements while independently managing smaller networking projects
  • Maintain centralized network configuration management systems and ensure configuration consistency across network devices
  • Monitor network health, performance, and availability using monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot complex network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues across enterprise environments
  • Collaborate with systems, security, and IT teams to maintain reliable, secure, and high-performing network services
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures
  • Leverage automation and configuration management tools to streamline network administration and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide advanced support for network-related issues while serving as an escalation resource for the IT team when needed
  • Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management activities to ensure a secure and reliable network environment
Qualifications
  • 3-5+years of experience in network administration
  • Experience administering enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, dynamic routing, network segmentation, and Zero Trust networking principles
  • Experience supporting multi-site network environments and maintaining high network availability
  • Familiarity with centralized network configuration management, monitoring, and alerting platforms
  • Experience creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
  • Network+, Security+, CCNA, or equivalent industry certification preferred
Additional Experience
  • Experience supporting hybrid or cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience participating in network architecture, design, or infrastructure modernization initiatives
  • Experience with advanced routing technologies and complex multi-site network environments
  • Experience implementing network segmentation, secure remote access, or Zero Trust networkingarchitectures
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or production
