Job summary

Summit Technologies, Inc. seeks a Network Administrator to configure, operate, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot DoD network infrastructure at the SOMTC, Fort Bragg.

You will manage Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and related security technologies in a on-site role supporting DoD missions. The candidate will have a minimum of three years in a senior technical DoD network role, plus hands-on experience with Cisco gear and VPNs, and will hold an Associate degree or equivalent military

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent military training.
  • Army MOS 25B/25H/25N or equivalent may be accepted.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Configure and maintain virtual private networks.
  • Monitor network availability, performance, and security.
  • Diagnose and resolve network-connectivity and performance issues.
  • Apply network-security principles and architecture.
  • Implement network-security practices involving firewalls, virtual private networks, and intrusion-detection systems.
  • Identify and address cyber threats and network vulnerabilities.
  • Use network-management, monitoring, and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain network-device configurations and related technical documentation.
  • Support DoD network operations and SOMTC training requirements.
  • Coordinate with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and desktop-support personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the continued availability, reliability, and security of network services.

Position Summary

The Network Administrator configures, operates, secures, monitors, and troubleshoots SOMTC network infrastructure. This position supports DoD network operations and provides hands‑on administration of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, virtual private networks, and related network‑security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve network-connectivity and performance issues.
  • Apply network-security principles and architecture.

Required Education
  • Associate degree in a related technical discipline; or
  • Equivalent military technical training, such as Army MOS 25B, 25H, or 25N.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a senior technical role supporting a DoD network.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco switches.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring and managing Cisco routers.
  • Extensive hands-on experience configuring and managing firewalls and virtual private networks.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Computer-networking concepts and protocols.
  • Cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Network-security principles and architecture.
  • Network-systems management principles and tools.
  • Network troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Virtual private network, firewall, and intrusion-detection technologies.
  • Strong technical documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
Certification Requirements
  • Current certification meeting the requirements for the DCWF Network Operations Specialist, Work Role 441, at the Intermediate proficiency level.
  • Acceptable certifications include Security+, CCNA, or Network+.
  • The required certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Work Environment and Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed on-site in Government-controlled facilities.
  • Must comply with applicable DoD, Army, USSOCOM, USASOC, installation, cybersecurity, personnel-security, CAC, and information-system access requirements.
  • Mission requirements may require work beyond normal operating hours, occasional weekend support, surge support, or support for simultaneous events.
  • Classified work is not normally authorized from an alternate worksite.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support mission activities.
