Job summary

INENT Inc is seeking a Netezza Database Administrator to join our team in St. Louis. You will create users, configure Netezza, troubleshoot performance, analyze log files, and collaborate with IBM Netezza Support for fixes.

This role requires strong database concepts and willingness to work in a 24/7 on-support environment. You will be responsible for deployment of changes from development to production, handle backup/restore concepts, and work with application teams globally.

Qualifications

• Creation of users/Groups and granting the necessary permissions as per roles.
• Configuration of new Netezza users from both Netezza/client servers.
• Troubleshooting the query performance issues and rewriting queries as needed.
• Toubleshooting system performance issues (H/W SPU/SPA/Switches/SAS Gig Ethernet interfaces).
• Proficient in analyzing Netezza log-files (pg.log/dbos.log/sysmgr.log).
• Backup/restore methodologies knowledge.
• Handle database errors (Memory/Swap/Host memory).
• Understand Gen-stats/Reclaim/Groom/nz_migrate concepts.
• Basics of Linux scripting/Shell scripts.
• Query History configuration concepts.
• Nzsql/Nzplsql concepts.
• Add new hardware events and Runaway query events.
• Willing to work 24/7 on-support environment.
• Deploy database changes dev to prod servers.
• Collaborate with IBM Netezza Support/Engineering for fixes.
• Strong Netezza architecture concepts.

Responsibilities
