Job summary

A leading tech company based in Berkeley Heights is seeking an experienced lead developer with over 10 years of experience in design and architecture. The ideal candidate should have a strong background with SQL Server, coding in ASP.NET/VB.NET, and an understanding of database architectures. • Strong software implementation and best practices.
• Experience with multi‑tier architectures and SOA.
• Expertise in T‑SQL and stored procedures.
• Insurance industry background is a plus; adaptability to complex env.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience as lead developer / designer / data architect
• 8+ years of database/DBA background working with SQL Server (2005/2008 preferred), etc…
• 5+ years experience coding with ASP.NET/VB.NET, etc…
• Solid understanding of database clustering, data performance issues, physical and logical data design, and OOP, with computer science background
• Knowledge of .NET 3.5/4.0 Framework, Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET, ASP.NET and digital technology skills a plus
• Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices
• Experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer), and some experience with service‑oriented architectures (SOA)
• Strong knowledge of and ability to design and optimize T‑SQL and stored procedures
• Large insurance company background a plus (underwriting and reinsurance experience a plus)
• Ability to adapt quickly to complex environments

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields a plus
• Advanced degrees required
