Job summary

Motion Recruitment in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Software Engineer II (.NET Developer) for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on building scalable enterprise applications, with backend and full-stack work across C#, .NET Core, SQL Server and Azure cloud services.

You’ll contribute to a fast-paced Agile environment, collaborate with onshore/offshore teams, and leverage modern DevOps and observability tools. Some frontend exposure (Angular/React) is a plus as is API design.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience in .NET technologies.
• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET Core.
• Experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (SOAP experience acceptable).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (cloud services, deployment, integration).

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance scalable web applications and backend services for mortgage and asset management systems.
• Collaborate with distributed Agile teams to deliver robust solutions across backend and full-stack components.
• Support cloud-based deployments and modern DevOps/observability tooling.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to a high-velocity backlog.
