Job summary

Jobtailor in New York is seeking a software engineer to drive system architecture and design across applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, and .NET 8/9.

You will design databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and contribute to application development while mentoring teammates.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development, cloud/on-prem environments, REST/gRPC APIs, and modern front-end frameworks in a Scrum team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of software development on modern Microsoft platforms (C#, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, .NET 8/9).
• Experience designing and architecting new solutions from scratch.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for faster coding and testing.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (Angular/React/Vue/Blazor).
• Experience in on-prem and cloud environments.
• RESTful and/or gRPC API design experience.
• Unit and integration testing with xUnit.
• SQL Server or other relational DB experience.
• Entity Framework Core or similar ORM.
• Agile/Scrum team experience.
• Docker and Git workflows are a plus.

Requirements

• ​Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of software development experience on modern Microsoft platforms including C#, ASP.NET Core, Razor, Blazor, Minimal APIs / Web APIs, and .NET 8/9 (LTS)
• Experience building and architecting new solutions from the ground up
• Hands‑on experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or similar to accelerate development, code review, and testing workflows
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue, or Blazor with a strong understanding of contemporary web development is desired
• Experience working in a blend of on-prem and cloud environments
• Experience with RESTful and/or gRPC API design
• Skillful in writing unit and integration tests using xUnit
• Expertise in SQL Server or equivalent relational database experience
• Practical experience using Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum team environment
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and modern source control workflows (Git) is a plus
