Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Support Engineer to join the ERO Support team. You will provide technical services in electrical discipline to support NERC standards and the Electric Reliability Organization, coordinating with plant facilities and project managers.

Responsibilities include ensuring no compliance violations, assisting with new plant builds and retrofits, and developing SME expertise in assigned NERC standards while traveling up to 25% and working in a remote

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program; Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience evaluating and ensuring compliance with NERC standards.
  • Ability to communicate with plant employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the ERO Support team to ensure no compliance violations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and third-party vendors on new plant builds and retrofits.
  • Be a role model technically and in dealing with customers for other engineers.
  • Actively participate on industry committees and drafting teams as appropriate.
  • Provide support for technical issues and maintain proficiency in related areas.
  • Cultivate and maintain contacts within the plant and Operations Compliance.
  • Develop and become SME for assigned NERC standards.
