Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow I in Internal Medicine-Nephrology to conduct, report, and present research under a faculty mentor. This training position is not permanent and supports career development in nephrology research.

The Division of Nephrology offers robust clinical and research training with translational and collaborative opportunities, preparing fellows for independent biomedical science careers in a thriving UTMB Department of Internal Medicine.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field and one (1) year of completed Postdoctoral Fellow research experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive NIH or Institute funded projects under the direct supervision of PI.
• Perform the proposed experiments and collect the experimental data.
• Work with a group of scientists for trouble shooting and brainstorming.
• Design and develop new research protocols and experimental procedures.
• Analyzes data and write the findings up together with PI for publication.
• Present research findings at local/national/international meetings.
• Open for collaboration and work in a team based environment.
• for new patients, assist with triaging patients, and other clinic needs as time allows.
• Performs related duties as required
