Job summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD, provides basic patient care in ambulatory nephrology settings. PRN schedule with day shifts; six months experience preferred; CNA and BLS required or within 60 days. This role offers meaningful patient interactions in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of six months' experience preferred. Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within 60 days.
• If working in North Dakota and not a CNA, must be registered as Nursing Assistant within four months from date of initial employment.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs basic patient care services and supports activities within ambulatory services.
• Multi-skilled to provide expanded services under supervision of a licensed clinical professional.
• Responsibilities include height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision screening, drug screens, point of care urinalysis and reception/clerical tasks.
• Prepare patient treatment areas, clean/maintain equipment, dispose of biomedical waste, restock supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and work patient registries to improve patient care.
