Job summary

UTMB Health in Galveston, TX seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in the Division of Nephrology to deliver high-quality patient care, teach trainees, and contribute to scholarly activity within an academic medical center.

The successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology services, supervise students and residents, participate in quality improvement, and help advance curriculum and research initiatives across UTMB campuses.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school is required.
• Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient nephrology care, including management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and related conditions.
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic settings.
• Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
• Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming.
