Job summary

Avera Nephrology Aberdeen is seeking a Medical Assistant (RN/LPN/MA qualified) to join our clinic in Aberdeen, SD. The position is full-time, regular worker type, day shift, Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm, totaling 72 hours biweekly.

The role includes nursing care, administering medications, coordinating patient care, taking vitals, and documenting in the chart; collaborating with providers and supporting patient education.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in South Dakota
• MA certifications may be accepted (CCMA/CMA/RMA)
• Full-time availability with the stated schedule
• Ability to perform essential nursing functions and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Coordinate patient care activities and assist providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing.
• Observe, record, and report patients’ condition and reactions to drugs and treatments.
• Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure timely care, including emergencies.
• Greet patients, perform nursing assessments, obtain health history and vitals.
• Respond to patient calls and educate them about diagnostics and health maintenance.
• Maintain exam rooms and prepare necessary medical supplies.
• Label pathology specimens and perform quality control of lab testing.
