Job summary

The Akron Public Library is seeking a Nepali Librarian who is highly organized and detail-oriented to manage our collections and assist patrons in Akron, Ohio.

Responsibilities include cataloging, shelving, developing Nepali-focused programs, and promoting library services. You will collaborate with staff to serve diverse communities and maintain accurate records while staying current with literature and technology trends.

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Fluent in Nepali; English proficiency is a plus.
• Experience in a library setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organize the library's collection of materials including cataloging, shelving, and weeding out outdated or damaged items.
• Assist patrons in locating resources and providing guidance on how to access them.
• Develop and implement engaging library programs for all ages such as book clubs, storytimes, and workshops.
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop collections focused on Nepali culture and literature.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature, technology, and library services.
