Job summary

A research and consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Wallops Island, VA. This full-time position focuses on supporting environmental compliance and planning programs. Responsibilities include managing environmental activities, ensuring adherence to regulations, and conducting inspections. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, over 5 years of experience, and knowledge of NEPA standards. Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant environmental experience.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance.
• Experience supporting Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE) programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer an Environmental Planning Program.
• Prepare Categorical Exclusions (CATEXs) and support NEPA compliance.
• Conduct environmental studies including wetland delineations.
