The position offers a salaried, full-time schedule with three 12-hour shifts weekly, including day and night coverage, and potential part-time arrangements based on needs.

Eligible candidates will hold MD/PA licensure in Maryland with neonatal certifications and fellowship training.

Qualifications

• MD/PA licensure in Maryland.
• NCCPA certification for PAs or neonatal NP credential.
• Neonatal fellowship training for PA or NP credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based neonatal care in a Level III NICU.
• Collaborate with neonatologists and APPs in patient rounds and care planning.
• Deliver family-centered care and discharge planning.
• Support a 36-hour weekly schedule across day/night shifts with holiday coverage.

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established and well‑staffed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in eastern Baltimore County. For more than 25 years, the Franklin Square neonatal team has cared for premature and critically ill newborns. Our Level III NICU is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art medical technology and staffed by highly trained, compassionate caregivers.

Unit Highlights

• 23 total beds, including 19 private rooms and 4 rooms for multiples


• Established team of 5 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and 4 Neonatologists

Schedule & Position Details

This is primarily a salaried, full‑time opportunity working 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12‑hour shifts per week. The schedule includes a combination of day and night shifts, with holiday coverage shared equally among the group.

Part‑time and PRN arrangements may also be considered

based on experience, availability, and the needs of the NICU team.

Minimum Qualifications

• PA candidates: Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license to practice in Maryland; national certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); must have completed a Neonatal Fellowship


• NNP candidates: Current unrestricted Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license to practice in Maryland; Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification through the National Certification Corporation


• Minimum of 1 year of Neonatal NP/PA experience preferred


• Qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply
