Job description

LEVEL IV, III & II NICU OPPORTUNITIES | EIGHT-HOSPITAL REGIONAL NETWORK | NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Pediatric Search Partners has been engaged by Valley Children’s Healthcare to recruit Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neonatologists to join its growing newborn medicine team in the Fresno/Madera area and throughout Central California.

Opportunities span an eight-hospital regional network — Valley Children’s Hospital plus seven partner hospitals — with practice environments ranging from highly complex Level IV neonatal care to high-volume Level III and community-based Level II programs.

Physicians can pursue the setting that best aligns with their clinical interests and career goals while benefiting from the pediatric subspecialty expertise, referral relationships and resources of one of the nation’s largest pediatric healthcare networks.

For the 11th consecutive year, Valley Children’s has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Children’s Hospital, with Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery ranked among the nation’s top 50 programs for 2026–27.

Level IV Neonatology — Valley Children’s Hospital

For neonatologists who thrive on clinical complexity, Valley Children’s Hospital offers the opportunity to practice in an 88-bed Level IV NICU serving as Central California’s primary referral center for critically ill and medically complex newborns.

As the only Level IV NICU serving a 12-county region between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the program cares for infants with extreme prematurity, congenital anomalies and complex medical and surgical conditions.

The NICU maintains an average daily census of approximately 60 infants and is supported by experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists throughout the 358-bed freestanding children’s hospital.

Practice Highlights
  • 88-bed Level IV NICU
  • Average daily census of approximately 60
  • High-acuity regional referral practice
  • Experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team
  • Comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty support
  • Complex neonatal surgical and congenital cardiac capabilities
  • ECMO
Regional Level III & II Neonatology Opportunities

Valley Children’s neonatologists also provide care across seven partner hospitals throughout Central California, offering physicians a range of practice environments with the support of Valley Children’s Level IV program and comprehensive pediatric subspecialty network.

Level III & Regional NICUs
  • Community Regional Medical Center – Fresno, 84-bed Level III NICU, Average daily census approximately 60
  • Doctors Medical Center – Modesto, Level III NICU, Average daily census approximately 20
  • Kaweah Health Medical Center – Visalia, Level III NICU, Average daily census approximately 20
  • Saint Agnes Medical Center – Fresno, Level II & III NICU care, Average daily census approximately 10–12
  • Clovis Community Medical Center – Clovis, Level II NICU, Average daily census approximately 10
  • Emanuel Medical Center – Turlock, Level II NICU, Average daily census approximately 4
  • Adventist Health – Hanford, Level II NICU, Average daily census approximately 4

Community Regional is one of California’s largest birthing centers and one of only four hospitals in the state recognized by The Joint Commission with Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care. Across the network, physicians can choose a practice setting and location that aligns with their interests — from busy, high-acuity Level III programs to smaller community-based Level II settings — while remaining connected to Valley Children’s clinical expertise and pediatric subspecialty resources.
