Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time neonatal nurse to join the Pediatrics: Neonatology department. This role covers 24-hour shifts in a 10-week block, with six full-time equivalent positions (6 FTE).

The incumbent will provide nursing and selected medical procedures for neonates and infants, collaborate with the care team, and contribute to quality and research-driven care. The ideal candidate maintains current State Board of Nursing licensure and demonstrates strong clinical assessment

Responsibilities

• Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to provide nursing and selected medical procedures for neonates and infants.
• Communicates and collaborates with appropriate members of the health care team, including patient families.
• Works to improve the quality of care provided to neonates.
• Advances the care of neonates through participation in and application of the research process. Shares knowledge on a formal and informal basis with interdisciplinary team as relates to specialty area
• Ensures the continuous quality of professional services by maintaining updated knowledge and skills.
• Maintaining current and valid licensure with the State Board of Nursing to provide continuous nursing services to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne disease(s)
• Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served

Essential Functions

• 1. Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to provide nursing and selected medical procedures for neonates and infants
