Job summary

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of General Pediatrics, seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join Loma Linda University Medical Center - Murrieta. The provider will support healthy newborn care in the nursery and critically ill neonates in a Level II NICU, working with neonatologists and pediatric teams to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, diagnostic testing, care planning, and teaching residents and students.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on Neonatology.
• NNP certification from a recognized certifying body.
• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in level III or IV NICU.
• Strong clinical skills including neonatal resuscitation and advanced care techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to healthy newborns in the nursery (13 beds) and critically ill neonates in a Level II NICU (6 beds).
• Conduct thorough physical assessments, diagnose and manage medical conditions.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatricians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Educate and support families regarding neonatal care, treatment options and care plans.
• Educate residents, medical students and other health professionals rotating through nursery and NICU.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical protocol development.
• Provide emergency care as needed and respond to critical situations with prompt interventions.
• Document patient care and progress including H&P, progress notes and discharge summaries.
