Overview

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will be very important in providing high-quality care to newborn babies in hospitals.

Here’s what you will do:

Responsibilities

• Provide care in four Level-III NICUs (intensive care units for newborns) in the Las Vegas area.
• Help care for around 1,700 newborns and more than 10,000 births every year.
• Use advanced treatments for sick babies, such as jet and oscillator breathing machines, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, and cooling therapy for brain injuries.
• Help with transporting babies who need care and stabilize them in emergencies.
• Work closely with 16 doctors who specialize in newborn care and other pediatric doctors to ensure all the babies get the best care.
• Work at different hospitals and take shifts to provide care all day and night.
• Focus on improving the quality of care, mentor others, and keep learning in your profession.
• Support families as they go through the NICU experience with kindness and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Eligible (within 5 years of eligibility) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine – THIS IS REQUIRED
• Must have a Nevada nursing license (or be willing to get one) – THIS IS REQUIRED
• A clean malpractice and license history is HIGHLY PREFERRED.

• Must be Board Certified.
• State License Requirements: Nevada.
• Must have at least a Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.

Other Requirements

• Must obtain DEA and CSR/CDS certifications before starting the job.
