Job summary

America West Transportation LLC is seeking a courteous Transport Driver to deliver excellent customer service while transporting clients locally in the Compton region. You will assist customers entering and exiting the vehicle and provide a through-the-door service.

Requirements include a valid state or CDL license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Immunizations and a clean driving record are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.
• Must pass Non-DOT Physical, Drug Screen, TB test, and Breath Alcohol test.
• Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap vaccines.
• Acceptable background screens including criminal check and drug/alcohol screening.
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.
• bilingual in another language in addition to English preferred

Responsibilities

• Pre-inspection checks on all vehicles to be driven.
• Ensure all items and devices are stored away properly.
• Drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.
• Assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle with a door-through service.

What You'll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection checks on all vehicles they are driving. They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. Drivers must drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.

On the road locally in the Compton region

Qualifications

License

• Valid state driver's license or commercial driver's license required.

Education & Training

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus.
• Must have a valid specific state driver's license of posted job location for at least five (5) years with no more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at fault accident in the last three (3) years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
• Experience working with the elderly population
• Physical certifications: Must pass Non-DOT Physical, Drug Screen, Tuberculosis (TB) test, and Breath Alcohol test.
• Required Immunizations & Vaccines: MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccine. Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) vaccine.
• Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual in another language in addition to English preferred

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening
• May be subjected to multiple drug and alcohol screenings to maintain Driver credentials

Physical Requirements

Driver must be able to pass the physical test:

• Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
• Bend from the waist
• Pivot from waist
• Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing
