  • Educate residents, property owners, businesses, contractors, homeowners associations, and other community members regarding Town code requirements, compliance expectations, and available options for resolving violations.
  • Promote voluntary compliance through education, communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving when appropriate, while taking timely formal enforcement action when circumstances, compliance history, public impact, or severity warrant escalation.
  • Issue courtesy notices, Notices of Violation, citations, summonses, and other enforcement documents consistent with Town codes, policies, and established enforcement practices.
  • Apply codes, enforcement procedures, and established enforcement priorities consistently, objectively, and equitably across properties and neighborhoods.
  • Conduct field investigations and inspections; collect photographs, inspection notes, correspondence, GIS information, and other necessary evidence to document violations and support enforcement actions.
