In this role, you will bridge the gap between advanced critical care and New England Baptist Hospital’s premier orthopedic specialty. You will serve as a vital mentor, designing evidence-based learning programs, leading our Magnet and Pathway to Association Practice (PTAP) alignment, and guiding nurses through every stage of their careers—from residency onboarding to specialty certifications. Key Responsibilities: Staff Development & Onboarding: Design, present, and evaluate clinical competency modules and educational programs using adult learning principles. Lead unit orientations, nurse residency programs, and competencies to ensure a seamless transition for new hires. Magnet & PTAP Leadership: Collaborate with the Magnet/PTAP Director to manage annual reporting, national office communications, and intracycle monitoring. Educate and engage staff, physicians, and leaders across the organization to champion these programs. Council & Committee Leadership: Lead monthly All-Day Council Meetings (including Research, Practice, Quality, and Coordinating Councils). Partner with nurse leaders to define roadmaps, chair committees, and drive professional practice projects. Clinical Excellence & Evidence-Based Practice: Integrate the latest clinical research and evidence-based standards into nursing practice. Assist in developing and updating patient care policies, procedures, and protocols. Real-Time Clinical Support: Act as an accessible resource on the floor to provide real-time education, mentoring, product rollouts, and life-support/emergency preparedness training. Qualifications & Requirements To succeed in this role, you must bring a strong critical care foundation, a passion for teaching, and proven leadership experience. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Required. Master’s Degree (MSN or related field): Preferred. Clinical Experience: 3–5 years of active nursing experience (Surgical ICU/Critical Care highly preferred). Leadership Experience: 1–3 years of supervisory or management experience required. Licensure & Certifications: MA Registered Nurse (RN) License: Required. BLS Certification: Required (AHA/RC preferred).**Job Description:****ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):*** Supports staff professional development with activities that include planned and real time educational offerings/support to advance clinical practice, certification, life support/emergency preparedness, TJC requirements, product rollouts, mentoring, etc.* Responds to changes in nursing practice and develops programs to support those changes.* Incorporates principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.* Design, plan, prepare and present materials for use in educational programs for nursing staff inclusive of competency based learning modules.* Accessible to clinicians, and puts education plans in place for staff, monitors completion of staff competencies and education programs.* Provides educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development.* Supports integration of evidence based, best practices, and research into practice, contributes to nursing research and incorporates research findings into program planning.* Work collaboratively with education team, managers, interprofessional team to support initiatives, central and unit orientation activities and is flexible in meeting needs of department.* Engages and leads in council, committee and task force work that enhances patient care, outcomes, and satisfaction. Chairs, Co-Chairs Committees. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of patient care policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines and standards of care.* Leads the onboarding, orientation, and nurse residency programs. Responsible for the successful transition of the new hire into the practice environment.* Maintains current knowledge of ANCC programming related to Magnet and PTAP.* Leads monthly All-Day Council Meetings for unit-based councils/activities, Research Council, Practice Council, JOE Council, Quality Council and Coordinating Council.* Collaborates with nurse leaders on membership, roadmaps and council projects and outcomes to advance the professional practice of nursing through these two programs.* Responsible for working with Magnet/PTAP Director to meet intracycle monitoring, annual reports, reports, communication to ANCC national office and all written/submitted documents.* Engages with nurses as well as staff, physicians, and leaders across the organization to ensure knowledge and awareness of Magnet and PTAP programs.**QUALIFICATIONS:*** MA Registered Nurse license is required.* BLS Certification required, AHA/RC preferred* ACLS Professional Organization Certifications (ONC, CNOR, Etc.) is preferred.**EDUCATION:*** Master’s Degree is preferred.* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:*** 3-5 years of work experience is required.* 1-3 years of supervisory/management experience is required.**OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*** Consistently promote a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in the organization's WE CARE values.**Pay Range:**$81,640.00 USD - $210,433.60 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
