Job summary

Bright Minds seeks a certified NDT inspector to perform and interpret FPI and UT on aerospace components in accordance with NAS410 and customer specs. You will work independently, document findings and ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Responsibilities include calibration verification, maintaining reports, mentoring Level I techs, and supporting audits. A Level II NAS410/SNT-TC-1A or equivalent and 3+ years aerospace NDT experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current or previous Level II certification for FPI and UT (NAS410 or equivalent).
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and NDT standards.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred and NADCAP exposure is a plus.
• Accurate documentation and record-keeping for inspections.
• Ability to verify calibration and maintain equipment readiness.

Job description

Perform and interpret Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with customer, industry and company specifications. Independently conduct inspections, evaluate results, document findings and ensure product compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Level II FPI and UT, including setup, calibration, testing and evaluation.
• Maintain inspection reports, records and certifications.
• Verify equipment calibration and perform daily system performance checks.
• Ensure compliance with NAS410, customer specifications and company procedures.
• Review work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Identify/segregate nonconforming material and initiate documentation.
• Support internal, customer and regulatory audits.
• Assist with training/mentoring Level I technicians and trainees.

Qualifications

• Current or previously certified Level II in FPI and UT under NAS410, SNT-TC-1A or equivalent employer-based certification.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum 3 years NDT inspection experience, preferably aerospace manufacturing.
• Strong drawing/specification interpretation, NDT standards knowledge and documentation accuracy.
• Preferred: additional NDT certifications, major aerospace OEM specifications and NADCAP experience.
• Physical requirements include standing/walking/bending, lifting up to 35 lbs, color/contrast distinction and visual acuity for inspection.
