Precision Castparts in Mentor, OH is seeking a 2nd Shift NDT Operator (X-Ray, Level 1) to inspect casting components and ensure conformance with specifications.

You will handle test parts using precision instruments, maintain a clean, safe work area, and cooperate with a team to meet production deadlines.

A high school diploma is preferred; at least 1 year of manufacturing experience is required, with casting experience a plus.

2nd Shift NDT Operator

Title: X-RAY, Level 1

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

Location: Mentor, OH

Education

Work Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment
• Previous casting experience is a plus

Principal Areas of Responsibility

• Test parts for defects and deviations from specifications
• Use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment

Specific Duties

• Handle hazardous waste according to MSDS and company policy
• Perform system capability checks
• Process parts according to applicable specifications
• Use manuals and source books to support inspection techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area
• Meet efficiency standards
• Move inventory related to X-ray operations
• Stock new film and package exposed film for storage
• Complete daily work records, including operational coding and routing documentation
• Follow routing card sequence requirements
• Assist with additional duties assigned by supervisor or Level III technician
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work environment at all times
• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to handle high-stress, fast-paced work with tight deadlines
• Must pass visual acuity exam
• Willingness to study and prepare to pass Level 1 certification requirements
• Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the role
