Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Write, develop, and publish work instructions for radiography processes.
• Perform audits of the NDT operations group under guidance.
• Investigate customer complaints with guidance from NDT Level III and Quality Manager.
• Research and compile data for continuous improvement and problem-solving with CI teams.
• Review production parts and processes to reduce costs through ergonomic, quality, and efficiency improvements.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities and facilitate initiatives.
• Compile data and metrics to report process and cost-efficiency improvements to leadership.
• Assist in developing and implementing NDT and mid-plant CI projects.
• Develop standards for preventive maintenance of NDT equipment.

NDT-Quality Technician II - Aerospace Parts Manufacturing

Primary Purpose

Under the supervision of the NDT Manager, Quality, the Quality Technician II – NDT provides technical support to the organization with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, communication, continuous improvement, and ergonomics. This position directly supports the Digital Technology Transition (Film Imaging to Digital Imaging), training, and NDT auditing.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Write, develop, and publish work instructions for all processes within the department that satisfy the requirements of the customer (radiograph techniques), Pacific Cast Technologies, and the end user, focusing on accelerating digital radiography conversion.
• Perform audits of the NDT operations group under guidance of NDT Level III.
• Investigate customer complaints under guidance from NDT Level III and the Quality Manager.
• Research and compile data for continuous‑improvement and problem‑solving activities, working with CI teams and leadership.
• Continuously review production parts and processes to reduce costs through ergonomic, quality, and efficiency solutions.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities and facilitate these initiatives.
• Compile data and metrics to report to leadership on process and cost‑efficiency improvements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of NDT and mid‑plant CI projects.
• Develop standards for preventive maintenance of NDT equipment.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Implement lean solutions and process changes for digital technology applications in digital radiography.
• Radiography, radiographic equipment, tools, techniques, and inspection methods.
• Dimensional inspection.
• Penetrant inspection.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for developing technical work instructions.
• Coordinate with radiography staff to integrate new digital processes, replacing traditional film and CR methods.
• Perform X‑ray inspections per requirements.
• Write intermediate technical work instructions for radiography applications.
• Conduct NDT technique evaluations and develop improved techniques as necessary for the customer.
• Assist with the design of digital part fixture concepts.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred).
• Continuous‑improvement experience (preferred).
• At least two years of radiography film interpretation required.
• At least two years of manufacturing or production‑environment experience required.

Work Conditions

• The job is performed under reasonably good working conditions.
• Travel (international and domestic) is required for this role.

Schedule

• Day shift.
