Job summary
Zenix Aerospace is hiring for an NDT Inspector II in El Cajon, CA. The role focuses on selecting, performing, and evaluating Non-Destructive Testing on aerospace products, documenting findings from visual, penetrant, and radiographic examinations.
You will ensure procedures are followed, maintain inspection records, and communicate findings to internal/external customers while supporting quality control across the operation.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified to NAS 410, NDT Level II in VT, PT, and/or RT (film). 40 hours of Radiation Safety training required for RT.
- 1 year of applied work experience as a NDT Level II in VT, PT, and/or RT.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Applies practical NDT methods and follows procedures exactly.
- Evaluates indications per standards and specifications.
- Identifies defects and locations in fabrication processes.
- Interprets NDT and welding symbols on drawings.
- Prepares and maintains inspection reports and records.
- Directs and carries out tests in the certified method.
- Communicates with customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborates with colleagues and departments as needed.
- Upholds Company Quality Control procedures related to inspection.
- Maintains cleanliness and proper handling of tools and stock.

Zenix Aerospace Ketema is a leading provider of components for aircraft and turbine engine builders, as well as precision products for space, marine and ground-based applications. Zenix Aerospace Ketema specializes in producing complex fabrications and machined components from titanium and nickel alloys.
The NDT Inspector II selects, performs, and evaluates the results of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aerospace products. Documents the findings of visual, penetrant, and radiographic examinations of all components being inspected.
- Applies the practical aspects of the applicable NDT method and the importance of following procedures exactly.
- Evaluates indications with reference to applicable standards and specifications.
- Identifies the type and location of expected defects for the fabrication process used to make the products.
- Understands and interprets the use of NDT and welding symbols on drawings.
- Prepares and maintains inspection reports and records.
- Directs and carries out tests in the method certified.
- Records variable data for individual statistical process control studies in appropriate logbooks.
- Clearly communicates in both verbal and written forms with internal and external customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborates with other colleagues and departments as needed.
- Upholds Company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements.
- Understands the practical theory of NDT, utilizing techniques from manuals and other source material for assistance when needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of the work area, proper handling of tools, equipment and stock to prevent loss.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions.
- Maintains filing systems and logs.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
- 1 year of applied work experience as a NDT Level II in VT, PT, and/or RT.
