Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a NDT Level II-FPI inspector for 2nd shift in South Windsor, CT. The role is onsite 100% of the time and involves inspecting metal parts using FPI methods to verify dimensional compliance.

The candidate will prepare parts, document results, and maintain inspection records while adhering to ITAR/EAR regulations and safety guidelines. High school diploma and 1–2 years of NDT/FPI experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in an inspection capacity related to NDT/FPI testing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and verify dimensional compliance using NDT/FPI methods.
  • Determine acceptability based on flaw indications and QA requirements.
  • Prepare parts and perform NDT inspections per approved data; use magnifiers when needed.
  • Document inspection results and maintain records.
  • Determine routing of parts using technical orders and work instructions.
  • Complete on-the-job and classroom training to be certified on tasks.
  • Open to cross-training other employees in related inspection processes.
  • Adhere to safety, fire, and housekeeping regulations.
  • Check tools and equipment for safe usage, calibration, storage, and certification.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and 6S initiatives.
  • Meet visual acuity requirements.
  • Generate suggestions for improving work and developing innovative ideas.

About The Opportunity

The NDT Level II-FPI will inspect and verify dimensional compliance for products using various inspection gages, scales, and visual inspection.

South Windsor, CT

Shifts

This role will be onsite 100% of the time. 2nd shift Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Responsibilities
  • Detect and interpret the relevancy of flaws in metal parts by using required FPI methods.
  • Apply knowledge of flaw indications, quality control requirements, and technical requirements to determine acceptability.
  • Prepare parts and perform NDT inspections in accordance with approved data by special methods. Will use magnifiers as required to prove reliability of NDT inspection process.
  • Document results of inspections as per work instructions, maintain records of inspection planning purposes as required.
  • Determine routing of parts through knowledge of technical orders, process routing work instructions.
  • Attend and successfully complete on the job and classroom training to be certified on assigned tasks.
  • Open to cross-training other employees in related inspection processes and techniques.
  • Adherent to safety, fire, and housekeeping regulations.
  • Checks tools and equipment for safe usage and ensures such equipment is calibrated, safely stored and certified.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and supports 6S initiatives.
  • Meet visual acuity requirements.
  • Generate suggestions for improving work; develop innovative approaches and ideas.
Required Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience in an inspection capacity related to NDT/FPI testing
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate in the English language both in the verbal and written form.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, inspection attributes related to indications and evaluate them effectively according to applicable quality assurance codes and specifications.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
