Job summary
NOV seeks an NDT Development Engineer to advance nondestructive inspection technologies for steel and tubular products. This hands-on role combines ultrasonic and electromagnetic methods with strong physics/engineering fundamentals.
You will develop inspection techniques, evaluate data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve detection capability and reliability across production and testing environments.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in Nondestructive Testing / Nondestructive Evaluation.
- Experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- Experience with Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT).
- Experience with Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI) or related technologies such as Eddy Current, MFL, EMAT.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field.
- Strong engineering problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Hands-on with inspection equipment and experimental systems.
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, validate, and improve NDT inspection technologies for steel and tubular products.
- Apply UT, PAUT, and EMI to real-world flaw-detection problems.
- Perform or support flaw detection in steel components and pipes.
- Develop inspection techniques, scan plans, calibration methods, and parameters.
- Analyze ultrasonic and electromagnetic data to characterize defects and improve detection.
