Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Westfield, MA is seeking a qualified NDT Inspector to perform radiographic, penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle tests on metal parts to verify nondestructive specifications and report findings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years related experience, ability to read technical documents, operate inspection equipment, and document results; periodic training and safety protocols will be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Reviews test orders to determine type of test requested, test procedures to follow, and part acceptability criteria.
• Applies agents such as cleaners, penetrants, and developers, and prepares parts for testing.
• Calibrates test equipment such as magnetic particles, x-ray, and ultrasonic equipment to standard settings.
• Sets up equipment to perform tests and conducts tests on parts following established procedures.
• Examines surface treated materials to locate cracks or other defects.
• Marks tested parts to indicate defective areas.
• Prepares reports outlining findings and conclusions.
• Performs tests on nonmetallic parts or structures.
