Job summary

Longenecker & Associates (L&A), a Geosyntec Company, seeks a Quality Control Inspection – NDE Inspector to support critical missions at Oak Ridge, TN. You will conduct NDE inspections (PT/LT) and welding checks, interpret results, and apply acceptance criteria from drawings and work orders.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, able to pass a federal background check for potential DOE Q clearance, and possess CWI and Level II PT/LT certifications. Onsite role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must pass a federal background investigation to secure DOE Q clearance if required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
• Health & Safety training and background testing are required.
• Marijuana is prohibited under Federal law for contractors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections using NDE methods (e.g., leak testing, liquid penetrant testing) and apply acceptance criteria from drawings/work orders.
• Perform welding inspections to ensure compliance with codes/standards; evaluate weld quality and monitor welding/brazing processes; confirm welder qualifications.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and codes to validate product conformity; maintain accurate records for fabrication, inspection, and reporting.
• Manage nonconformance documentation; support internal process audits; communicate inspection results with engineers and managers; provide training on inspection techniques.
