Position Overview

TEAM is seeking an entry‑level NDT Assistant to support our certified technicians in the delivery of nondestructive testing services at various client sites and locations. This role is a critical first step in developing a rewarding career in the field of asset integrity and inspection. The successful candidate will play an active part in ensuring safety, support, and operational excellence for TEAM's inspection and testing operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist certified NDT technicians in setting up and performing inspections (UT, MT, PT, RT, etc.) in accordance with TEAM and client procedures.
  • Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment for testing assignments.
  • Support radiation safety practices and help secure work areas for radiographic testing (where applicable).
  • Transport equipment to and from job sites, maintaining safe handling and inventory control.
  • Ensure all tools and work areas are cleaned and maintained.
  • Complete field reports, timesheets, and other documentation as directed.
  • Follow all safety rules, client site protocols, and TEAM's Life Critical Expectations.
  • Perform general labor duties related to rigging, lifting, and access equipment set‑up.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in NDT, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with basic NDT methods and terminology.
  • Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry‑standard safety certifications.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with tools/equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug/alcohol screening background check.
  • Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various environments typically found in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Power, Municipality, Aerospace, and other type settings.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong work ethic with a safety‑first mindset.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard refinery or plant environment, including the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non‑field duties.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, that permits employees to communicate effectively.
  • Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, that permit investigations.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation that permits the employee to perform routine office duties.
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office duties and travel when necessary to off‑site locations.
  • Ability to maintain focus and multitask with effective communication skills.
Work Conditions
  • Position is based out of a TEAM field office or client site location.
  • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
  • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
  • Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Able to wear safety equipment for any task and as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules as required.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.
Additional Job Description

Anticipated compensation for this role is $41,600 - $47,840 per year plus benefits. Note: Disclosure as required by HB3129 of the pay range for this role when being hired into our locations in Illinois. Team reserves the right to pay more or less than the pasted range. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and geography.
