Job summary

CareNow urgent care within HCA Healthcare in San Antonio seeks an NCT/Medical Assistant. You will assist with patient care, take vital signs, document in the EHR, and support imaging as ordered.

Requirements include graduating from an accredited MA program, state GMRT/LMRT/NCT license, BLS within 30 days, and willingness to obtain certifications. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered within a large national network.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect specimens, perform EKGs and IM injections.
• Perform imaging services as ordered and update patient charts.
• Record patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and chart auditing.
• Maintain in-house lab records and sendouts; track drug screens.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking an NCT/Medical Assistant like you who provides expertise and to be a champion of patient care. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

As a X-ray Tech, you will:

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKG’s, and administering IM injections.

• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and updates patient charts accordingly.

• Collect patient history and documenting EHR appropriately.

• You may apply splints, dressings and bandages.

• Assist with check-in/check-out when needed including auditing charts.

• Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, and lab work sent out to other labs.

• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.

You should have:

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.

• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.

• General Medical Radiology Technician (GMRT), Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT), or Non-Registered Technician (NCT) license is required in state of residency.

• Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.

• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start.

• Must obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion.
