Job summary

Barnes & Noble College in Greensboro is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and support store leadership in daily retail operations.

You will greet customers, assist with transactions, maintain clean displays, and help ensure a fast, friendly shopping experience for students, faculty, and staff. Flexible scheduling and benefits are offered.

This temporary position emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude in a busy campus environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to assist customers and deliver an elevated experience.
• Flexible availability during the academic year, including peak periods.
• Basic math, keyboarding and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid.
• Greet customers and foster a positive shopping experience.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register.
• Keep shelves organized and store clean and welcoming.
• Temporary roles require weekly availability for up to 90 days with weekend flexibility.
• Routine housekeeping as needed.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Temporary positions require availability to work on a weekly basis for a period of 90 days or less with occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling for opening, midday, or closing shifts.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
