Position Summary:

Performs service and repair for hydraulic components.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, build, and test cylinders, pumps, and motors
• Evaluate warranty hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and motors
• Attend advanced training within hydraulic field
• Reverse engineer hydraulic components
• Create and document testing procedures
• Train new and/or junior hydraulic technicians
• Provide hydraulic field service to off-site customers as needed
• Design test fixtures and setups
• Conduct intercompany training sessions
• Coordinate workflow for the machine shop with the Production Manager
• Coordinate with the Production Manager on problem jobs, after-hours ESFs, and capital improvements for the hydraulic department
• Maintain and ensure acceptable cleanliness levels within hydraulic test areas and work stations
• Follow safety rules and safe work practices throughout the department
• Participate in continuous improvement through training and development
• Correctly size, design, and select proper seals and sealing materials
• Read and interpret precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
• Own basic and many specialty tools for advanced hydraulic servicing
• Identify component serviceability accurately
• Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and assist customers via phone or email
• Other duties as assigned
