Job summary

Butterball, LLC is seeking a maintenance associate to keep the inside and outside of the Feed Mill clean and safe. The role requires performing housekeeping to GMP standards, operating lift equipment, and assisting maintenance as needed.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in manufacturing, feed mill or agricultural experience, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred, with bilingual English/Spanish considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas per GMP.
• Sweep, mop, wash and dust as needed.
• Keep feed mill grounds clean at all times.
• Dispose of mill waste properly in outside container/landfill trailer.
• Dust beams, equipment and railings as directed.
• Paint rails, beams and walls as directed by supervisor.
• Assist maintenance as needed.
• Operate equipment via computer automation per procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Sweep, mop, wash and dust as needed.
• Keep all grounds of the Feed Mill clean at all times
• Place trash, waste feed, etc from the mill into outside container or landfill trailer for disposal.
• Dust beams, equipment and railings as needed.
• Paint railing, beams and walls as directed by supervisor.
• Assist maintenance as needed to perform different job duties as directed by supervisor
• Operate equipment, automatically or manually, via computer automation consistent with procedures

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

• 1 to 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Previous feed mill or agricultural experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Ability to operate a forklift, tractor and shuttle wagon.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

• Must be able to swing a sledgehammer and carry 50 pound ingredient bags
• Ability to work at heights and climb ladders
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Must be able to climb steps and trailers frequently
