Nucor Building Systems in Waterloo, IN, is hiring a Civil/Architectural Engineer to design all aspects of our metal building systems, including framing, panels, and bracing. You will use proprietary analysis software and work with the Detailing Department to ensure accurate, code-compliant designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to hire date.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
• Candidate must be authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future. No sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Design all aspects of metal building systems: structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, stability bracing.
• Develop safe, economical structures that meet project requirements while following codes and standards.
• Use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity.
• Collaborate with the Detailing Department and others to communicate design requirements and ensure project execution.
• Review and check structural drawings for accuracy.
• Grow and develop as an engineer by collaborating with teams across the division.
• Uphold safety policies, practices, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Basic Job Functions:

• Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements effectively and ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversight: Review and check structural drawings for accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications:
