SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the LCC Director, provides supervision of corpsmembers during conservation and trail projects on public lands. Supervisor works in cooperation and under the direction of Public Lands Agency staff project leader(s). Provides corpsmembers with instruction and direction during all aspects of the project. Assures corpsmembers comply with all safety, LCC and Public Lands Agency rules and requirements.

Assist in the fulfillment of the Organization’s vision and mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leads and supervises unskilled young adults with multiple barriers to employment.

Provides responsible supervision during public lands conservation, maintenance and trail project work.

Works in cooperation and under the direction of Public Land Agency project lead staff.

Supervises and conducts vocational, safety, and equipment training for corpsmembers in the areas of trail construction and maintenance, landscaping, natural lands and habitat restoration i.e., chain saw operations, planting, trim and cultivate trees, shrubs, aquatic plants, etc.

Prepares and applies chemical spray applications for fertilizing, weed abatement and fire abatement, etc.; removes brush and other debris from natural areas for fire abatement; picks up and removes trash and other debris; and other related duties.

Supervises crew, including implementation of policies and procedures consistent with LCC Corpsmember Handbook and Public Lands partner requirements.

Mentors and coaches corpsmembers to resolve behavioral issues and other barriers to their project experience. Implements disciplinary measures when needed within the guidelines of the Corpsmember Handbook.

Serves as a role model for corpsmembers, including active involvement and support of their public lands conservation and trail project experience and educational goals.

Administers safety training related to the worksite, assuring the safety of corpsmembers during all work tasks.

Effectively structures workload to meet deadlines.

Develops, leads, and maintains a positive and productive work environment.

Delivers high quality and timely completion of all jobs, projects and related services to the satisfaction of the Public Lands Agency project partners and LCC management.

Ensures assigned vehicle, tools, equipment, materials and supplies are maintained and in good and safe working order.

Completes and submits all required forms and reports (e.g. daily crew assignment log and report; log, vehicle logs and gas receipts, equipment repair orders corpsmember evaluations, corpsmember award nominations, etc., are completed in a timely manner and submitted as required to supervisor.

Safely transports corpsmembers to and from project worksites throughout Fresno County and surrounding counties in LCC vehicle; ability to connect and safely pull bumper-pull or gooseneck, dual axle trailer.

Travels for work related business using personal/organization vehicle.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.
