Job summary

VTG in Hampton Roads, VA seeks an Associate Systems Engineer/Technical Specialist to support technical manual updates, courseware formatting, software change tracking, and documentation management on the AN/SQQ-89(V) USW lifecycle program. Responsibilities include QA for ~800 firmware/software packages annually and data module updates in S1000D/AIM.

Required: DoD SECRET clearance, 0–5 years in technical writing, systems support, or Navy combat systems; bachelor’s degree preferred; familiarity

Qualifications

Must have 0–5 years of technical writing, systems support, or Navy combat system experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field preferred.
Familiarity with Navy technical documentation or S1000D data modules a plus.
Strong written communication and document production skills.
Navy veteran with electronics technician, sonar technician (STG), or IT rating experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Execute technical manual updates and TOR documentation for AN/SQQ-89 ACB software releases.
Perform courseware formatting and QA for ~800 firmware/software update packages annually.
Support MOODLE/LMS content uploads and courseware version control.
Maintain deliverable status tracking and data call preparation under senior engineer direction.
Assist in training scenario and exercise package development.
Provide quality review for technical data packages and courseware deliverables.
