US Navy is seeking a Licensed Mortician to join its healthcare team as a Hospital Corpsman (HM) specializing as a Navy Mortician (HM-8496). This full-time active-duty role supports dignified care for service members and eligible beneficiaries, contributing to Navy Medicine’s mission worldwide.

The position is an in-person duty with stations nationwide and overseas. Eligibility requires a current mortician license, ABFSE-accredited training, and willingness to enlist as HM in the U.S. Navy.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must complete an ABFSE-accredited mortuary science program.

Responsabilidades

• Support dignified care, preparation, and handling of deceased service members and eligible beneficiaries.
• Assist with remains identification, documentation, preservation, disposition, and transportation processes.
• Coordinate with medical, casualty assistance, chaplain, command, and family-support teams.
• Maintain mortuary records and ensure compliance with Navy and DoD procedures.
• Apply mortuary science knowledge in a disciplined, sanitary, and respectful environment.
• Provide calm, compassionate support during casualty and family-care missions.
• Support mission readiness through mortuary affairs expertise.
