Job Description:
IS4S is seeking qualified candidates to support navigationsystems simulation and testing activities at our Auburn, AL location. The personor persons filling this role will work with others in a cross-functional teamsto development customized simulation and test equipment to perform laboratoryand field testing of navigation systems.
Typical activities and responsibilities would include:
Developing and maintain interfaces (software andhardware) between laboratory test equipment and platform systems (avionics and vetronics).
Develop and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL)and software-in-the-loop (SWIL) test beds for military platforms with advancednavigation systems.
Assessing performance of navigation technologiesusing laboratory and simulation equipment including acceptance, functional, andqualification testing.
Support test equipment installation andoperation at government and sub-contractor laboratory facilities
Support field testing of advanced prototypes
Candidates should enjoy working a variety of interrelatedtasks that may be different in nature. Though the position will be an additionto an existing team, candidates are expected to be self-driven problem solverscapable of operating independently on some tasks. Candidates must have stronganalytical and communication skills. The position requires knowledge inmultiple areas across signal processing, Unix systems, networking, development,as well as regular customer interaction through meetings, briefings, andreporting. Some responsibilities necessary for execution may be physical innature (e.g., packing and moving test equipment, installing sensors invehicles, setting up communication network using masts, working in anechoicchambers, etc.). Both full and part-time applicants will be considered, subjectto the requirements listed below. Candidate must be a US citizen and eligiblefor a DoD clearance.
RequiredExperience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering,computer science, or related technical field (for full-time applicants)
Proficiency with one or all the followingprogramming languages: C/C++, Matlab, Python
Knowledge of Unix systems, particularly at thecommand line.
High MS Excel and Word proficiency
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability and motivation to work with minimal direction
