What you will need:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
- Demonstrated background performing research into Finite Element Modeling and Analysis. Must have experience with complex structures.
- Demonstrated experience using commercial FEM/FEA tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL
- DoD SECRET Clearance
This is an onsite position at Peraton's customer site: NSWCCD West Bethesda, MD.
Peraton is hiring a Naval Structures Modeling Engineer to do the following:
- Perform research as part of the US Navy's Structural Acoustics research team at NSWC Carderock Division.
- Candidate will perform research using Finite Element Modeling / Finite Element Analysis (FEM/FEA) tools to support ongoing research into the acoustics of US Navy platforms.
- Significant portion of responsibilities will involve research into FEM models using meshes of complex Naval structures using commercial FEM tools.
- Additional efforts will include running FEA tools, generating results, and assisting Government SMEs in analysis of the FEA results.
Candidate will work within a Government - Contractor team performing multiple projects concurrently. A successful candidate must be a self-starter able to communicate with multiple teams, set and adjust priorities and schedules, and deliver results per schedule.
