Job summary

Avail Staffing is seeking experienced Sound Dampening Tile Installers to support work aboard naval vessels in the Hampton Roads area. You will install acoustic tiles and insulation in accordance with shipyard specifications, blueprints, and NAVSEA standards. All levels of experience with SDT are encouraged to apply.

Pay rate is commensurate with experience level. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, fitting, and securing materials to bulkheads, overheads, and deck surfaces while ensuring

Qualifications

• Experience installing acoustic tiles in marine/shipyard/industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and on ships.

Responsibilities

• Install sound dampening/acoustic tiles and insulation systems aboard naval vessels
• Measure, cut, fit, and secure materials to bulkheads, overheads, and deck surfaces
• Prepare surfaces for installation by cleaning, grinding, or applying adhesives as required
• Ensure all installations meet NAVSEA and shipyard quality standards
• Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain clean and organized work areas onboard vessels
• Follow all PPE, confined space, and shipyard safety protocols
