Job summary

Serco Inc. in Norfolk, VA seeks an Experienced Marine Electrician to support U.S. Navy shipboard electrical systems.

Work includes fabricating and assembling electromechanical assemblies, applying safety practices, and ensuring safe operations on U.S. Naval Ships and installations in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, and Portsmouth. You will join a team performing testing, wiring, and installations with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years experience in electrical work in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of shipboard experience or relevant/similar experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain access to NAVSTA & DBIDS and pass drug screening.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Ability to work in shipyard environments and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions from supervisor or engineer; perform work independently with safety focus.
• Conduct tests or experiments; set up and operate standard test equipment and record data.
• Construct components, subunits, or simple models; adapt standard equipment.
• Maintain records of engineering data; perform basic calculations and plot data.
• Perform routine tests and operate test equipment; record data.
• Plan and accomplish goals with guidance from supervisor in a safe environment.
