Job summary

NDI Engineering Company is seeking Mechanical Engineers to support propulsion systems onboard U.S. Navy vessels, with focus on gear, propulsor, and shafting components. The role requires coordination with Navy engineers, vendors, and depots, plus development of technical data and SOWs for new procurements.

Ideal candidates will have experience with propulsion hardware and be able to travel for on-site support, including CONUS/OCONUS upgrades. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
• 1 year of professional engineering experience related to general engineering principles and shipboard propulsion systems encouraged.
• U.S. citizen and able to qualify for a DoD Secret clearance.
• Work location at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Navy engineers, managers, and equipment vendors to coordinate repairs and spares.
• Develop technical data packages (TDP) and statements of work (SOW) for procurements and contracts.
• Provide engineering support for SURFMEPP and NSWCPD class maintenance planning.
• Inspect sites and prepare status reports, data, and analyses for propulsion systems upgrades.
• Coordinate shipboard equipment upgrades across waterfront facilities, including planning, testing, and training.
