Job summary

Green Expert Technology Inc. (GreenXT) seeks a mid-level Software Engineer to support the DDG-51 Machinery Control System software for naval platforms. You will collaborate with Navy civilian staff, support contractors, and OEMs across the software lifecycle from requirements to maintenance.

You will work onsite at LBES with travel up to 10% and contribute to design, development, testing, and documentation. A DoD secret clearance is required and a BS in CS/EE/CE is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development using Microsoft.NET Framework OR WindRiver Workbench OR Tornado IDEs.
• Experience with Linux (Redhat/CentOS).
• Languages: C, C++, C#, Java.
• Experience with Atlassian tools – JIRA/Wiki/Confluence.
• Design, develop, test, install software and products.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation (requirements, manuals, specs).
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP networking.
• Troubleshoot and support networked IP-based systems onsite or remotely.
• Knowledge of software version control (SVN, Git).
• Model-based development (MATLAB, LabVIEW).
• Understand software development lifecycle and process.
• Develop and execute test procedures.
• Experience with databases (MS Access, SQL).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of the DDG-51 Machinery Control System (MCS).
• Design, develop, test, install and maintain MCS software and related products.
• Work with version control (Git).
• Identify and document software and system problems.
• Resolve issues through debugging and investigation, provide distance and onsite support.
• Prepare and maintain software requirements.
• Write and review technical documentation (manuals, specs, training materials).
• Participate in special projects as required.
