Job summary

SSI is seeking a GIS Administrator to join our team at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. The role focuses on collecting, creating, updating, maintaining, and verifying sensitive GIS data for the Navy NRSE C3P Ashore Program.

The successful candidate will support applications, spatial data processing, and reporting; manage spatial databases; assist with data conversion and validation; train staff; and ensure operational continuity across mapping and administration teams.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or experience substitution for degree.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in GIS field.
• Medium to Advanced level MS Excel skills.
• ArcGIS Desktop 10.8, ArcPro 3.3 with GIS Server 11.3.
• Knowledge of GIS Data stored in a spatial data engine.
• GIS Server applications for addressing services and map publishing.
• Experience with GRX portal (GeoReadiness Explorer).
• Working knowledge of help desk ticketing systems.
• Strong skills in MS SharePoint, OneDrive and Office Suite tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation of applications, spatial data processing and reporting.
• Assist with spatial database management, data conversion, system validation testing and data compilation.
• Provide support to Navy fire and policy emergency responders via the enterprise spatial database.
• Provide user training in operations to support staff, administrators and ensure coordination with mapping and administration groups.
• Maintain hardware configuration files, monitor system status, investigate problems and take correction action as necessary.
• Provide data management (both tabular and spatial), relational database administration, statistics generation and table space management.
• Perform failure/recovery processes for common geospatial image formats (TIFF, GeoTIFF, MrSID).
• Perform image processing and workflows within a geospatial domain.
