Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command seeks an experienced naval architect engineer to provide highly skilled support as a regional technical authority.

You will advise on ship stability, structural assessments, and complex repairs for major ship classes, including carriers and cruisers, ensuring compliance with NAVSEA standards. The role requires deep naval architecture knowledge, problem solving, and the ability to coordinate with contractors and Navy personnel.

Qualifications

  • Expert naval architecture and engineering guidance per US Navy specs or commercial equivalents.
  • Experience in producing naval architecture products for ship stability, structural assessments, and repairs.
  • Knowledge of Navy specifications/regulations for naval architecture systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex ship equipment issues using innovative approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert naval architecture and engineering guidance as a regional authority.
  • Serve as NAVSEA representative for shipboard and in-shop technical assistance.
  • Deliver naval architecture services for overhaul and repair of major ship classes.
  • Advise on material and component acceptability per plans and fabrication.
