Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior NAVAIR Systems Administrator at Point Mugu, CA to support government hosting and mission-critical IT operations. You will deploy and maintain hardware and virtual infrastructure, manage backups, and ensure DoD-aligned security practices while supporting customers and teams across agile projects.

The role requires active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret, 5+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with RMF, ACAS, and a broad set of IT

Qualifications

• RMF compliance experience preferred
• CompTIA Sec+
• Windows or Linux OS certification
• ACAS Operator and Supervisor Course completion preferred (within 3 years)
• 5+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facility.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to physical and virtual hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers/workstations/IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain documentation: knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information for system administration.
• Provide technical support to customers, resolving issues and giving guidance on best practices.
• Secure information systems per current DoD guidance.
• Maintain configuration and security posture via continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.
• Participate in Agile project planning.
• Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.
• Understand and be familiar with Linux and virtual networking.

• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
• Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.
• Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.
• Secure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance

Qualifications

• Active Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret (interim to start). Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance experience preferred (example: scanning and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) execution)
• CompTIA Sec+
• Windows or Linux OS certification
• ACAS Operator and Supervisor Course completion preferred (Certification must be within the 3 year active window)
• At least 5+ years of experience

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $86,000.00/Yr. - USD $137,600/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
