Job summary

Green Chimneys’ Nature’s Nursery is seeking a Teacher Assistant – Nature’s Nursery (Per Diem) at Brewster Main Campus. You will assist group leaders, participate with children in activities, and help maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications include being at least 18, a high school diploma or equivalent, and childcare experience preferred. Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Childcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Following the direction of the group leaders in planning, preparing and implementing activities for all or part of the group.
Actively participate with the children in all activities including farm, wildlife, swimming, horse barn and other areas of the Green Chimneys campus.
Actively participate and supervise the children at all times, demonstrate the ability to make good decisions in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures and those of OCFS.
Assist the director and other staff members to maintain proper coverage, working overtime if necessary.
Provide care for the children and the school environment.
Keep the environment neat, clean, safe and healthy.
Maintain and request supplies, as needed.
Report all maintenance requests to the Department Director.
Assist with special projects or assignments as requested by the Director and other teaching staff.
Copy and distribute Incident Reports.
