Job summary

The City of Farmington Hills seeks a Recreation Program Supervisor to plan, organize, and implement field trips and STEM programming for all ages. You will supervise the FH Nature Center operations, schedule staff, coordinate facilities, and handle purchasing and records.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Recreation and Parks Administration or related field, at least one year in recreation programming, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Word/Excel; familiarity with RecTrac is a

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Parks Administration or related field, or equivalent combination and experience.
One year or more of experience in recreation programming, management, communications and events preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; must communicate effectively with the public and employees.
Proficiency with computers and software (Word, Excel).
Experience using RecTrac or similar recreation program software preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and implement field trips, recreation and STEM in nature programming for all ages.
Supervise daily operation of group visits and field trip programming at FH Nature Center; schedule personnel and assist staff as needed.
Supervise staff and/or volunteers and coordinate utilization of facilities for programs, including setup and readiness.
Perform divisional purchasing, prepare specifications, requisitions, and maintain records and reports.
Foster and maintain community partnerships through onsite and offsite programming.
