Job summary

Goodcarbon in Berlin seeks a Nature-based Solutions Analyst to support due diligence and ongoing monitoring of NbS projects for clients. You will strengthen our Nature Analytics Framework to align with evolving market and scientific standards and help deliver high-integrity carbon projects.

You will apply remote sensing, carbon modelling and stand up new insights while collaborating with international experts. The role offers a remote-friendly, hybrid setup with a central Berlin office.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in environmental science, forestry, nature conservation or related field.
• 3–5 years in NbS due diligence or project development.
• Strong knowledge of NbS methodologies, verification standards and monitoring tech.
• Expertise in remote sensing and carbon modelling.
• Strong international collaboration network and English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Apply the Nature Analytics Framework to assess NbS projects within client portfolios.
• Review carbon projections and conduct remote sensing to confirm eligibility.
• Evolve the Nature Analytics Framework with new standards and tech.

Where your expertise is needed

As a Nature-based Solutions Analyst at goodcarbon, you will be part of a team conducting rigorous due diligence and monitoring of nature-based carbon projects for our clients. You will help to continuously strengthen our Nature Analytics Framework to ensure it is aligned with the latest market and scientific standards for high-integrity nature-based carbon projects.

Responsibilities:

• Apply the Nature Analytics Framework to assess and monitor NbS projects within client portfolios, providing clear, actionable insights
• As part of the due diligence process, review carbon projections produced by project developers and conduct remote sensing analysis to confirm eligibility
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of goodcarbon’s Nature Analytics Framework
• Build and maintain intelligence on emerging carbon and nature standards, methodologies and monitoring technologies
• Support our content marketing with insightful and innovative knowledge on NbS
• Build and manage relationships with external technical advisors and partners

What we are looking for:

• Master's degree or PhD (preferred) in environmental science, ideally with a focus on forestry, nature conservation, ecosystem restoration and/or carbon sequestration
• 3-5 years of experience in due diligence or project development of NbS projects
• Strong knowledge of nature-based carbon methodologies, verification standards and monitoring technologies
• Expertise in remote sensing and carbon modelling
• An established network of experts in nature-based solutions
• As a part of an international team, you’re fluent in English, German is a plus
